Michael J. Coles
Caribou Coffee
Michael J. Coles served as a Director and Chief Executive Officer of Caribou Coffee, the world's second largest coffee company, from June 2003 until November 2007. From July 2005 until November 2007, Mr. Coles also served as Chairman of the Board. Prior to joining Caribou Coffee, Mr. Coles co-founded Great American Cookie Company in 1977 and served as Chief Executive Officer until he sold his remaining interest in the company in 1998. From 1987 until 2003, Mr. Coles also served on the board of Charter Bank & Trust, of which he was a founder, and from 1998 to 2001, Mr. Coles was Chairman of the Board. From 1999 through 2003, Mr. Coles was a consultant and private investor providing strategic and management advice to a number of private companies and served on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations.
Mr. Coles is also the namesake of the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University.
