Bill Griffin is the Managing Director of Fidelity National Information Services, the nation’s leading provider of financial services technology and mortgage related services. In his role, Bill leads Fidelity’s efforts to identify, develop and deliver end-to-end solutions to the country’s largest financial institutions, leveraging the enterprise-wide resources of the Fidelity family of companies.
In addition, Mr. Griffin serves as Vice Chairman of LSI, a Fidelity National Information Services Company. He joined LSI in 1989 and has served in a variety of key capacities, including his most recent role as Chief Executive Officer and President prior to Fidelity’s acquisition of LSI in February, 2003. Over the years, he has built a strong foundation of strategic partnerships throughout the industry from his extensive background in sales, marketing and operations.
Mr. Griffin has more than 35 years of experience in the mortgage finance and financial service fields. He began his career in mortgage finance in 1972 with the C&S National Bank in Atlanta. In 1975, he joined Ticor Mortgage Insurance where he spent nine years serving in a variety of roles. His senior responsibilities included serving as the Executive Vice President responsible for Operations, inclusive of national sales and marketing, secondary marketing, information systems, and insurance underwriting. From 1981 to 1983, he served on the company's Board of Directors. In addition, he founded and acted as President and CEO of Ticor Securities Company, a mortgage securities firm specializing in the structuring and sale of mortgage-backed securities.
In 1984, Mr. Griffin moved to Dallas, Texas, where he was founder, Chairman and CEO of the Highland Park National Bank and its mortgage subsidiary, the Highland Capital Group. In 1987, he co-founded and was a partner with the Stratmor Group, a privately held investment banking firm with its principal business of facilitating mergers and acquisitions to mortgage banking firms.
Throughout his career, Mr. Griffin has been active in professional, community and civic organizations. He serves on the Board of Overseers and the Steering Committee for the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. Mr. Griffin recently received the 2007 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Terry College. In addition, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Georgia Foundation. Mr. Griffin also serves on the Board of Directors of the Title and Appraisal Vendor Management Association (TAVMA). In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is currently President of Oakmont Country Club which hosted the 2007 United States Open Championship. While in Dallas, Mr. Griffin was the chairman of the National Craniofacial Foundation.
Mr. Griffin received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia in 1972. While attending Georgia, Mr. Griffin was President of the Interfraternity Council and Greek Horsemen and a member of Sphinx, Gridiron, Blue Key and Omicron Delta Kappa. He currently resides in Pittsburgh with his wife and has three grown children.
